We're back. Slow start to the summer due to a combination of weather and vacations.
Saturday, July 20th was not a windy day. In fact it was a rather cool day with very slight winds, but we set out the marks for a triangular course in a fit of optimism. By the time we got out there, the wind was very light, but it was blowing from the East, which the course was set out for, so we did single sausage races.
Wind direction varied from East to South to North, which made for very sudden changes in position.
Four boats in each race, with Karen retiring after the third race, and Jean and Alex taking her place for the fourth.
First race;
1 Charles and Maureen
2 Brian Woods
3 Karen
4 Brain and Penny
Second race:
1 Brian and Penny
2 Charles and Maureen
3 Karen
4 Brian Woods
Third Race:
1 Brian and Penny
2 Charles and Maureen
3 Karen
4 Brain Woods
Fourth Race
1 Brian and Penny
1 Charles and Maureen (tie)
3 Brian Woods
4 Jean and Alex
Wind remained unreliable for the evening, so that the Picnic Island cruise was forced to resort to motors.
